![]() This really came up for me a number of years ago. A constant battle is occurring between what we hold in the depths of our hearts and the information that we are holding in our minds. ![]() If we are going to obey the commandments it is not enough to have knowledge. But you and I both know that knowing the commandments is not enough to obey them. What does it mean here when it says, “What the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature”? The Law had all the right commandments: do not lie, do not cheat, do not steal, love your neighbor etc. The Law of Moses taught us that knowing the Bible, or knowing what to do, was never enough.įor what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering. Actually, we should understand this from the Law of Moses. If we are going to obey God and live a life of love, then knowing the Bible is never enough. (2) and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. (1) Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children That is why when it comes to obeying God we need to remember Ephesians 5. What is in the heart will win the battle. You and I have a constant battle going on in our lives between our mind and our heart. I no longer think of the renewed mind as a goal to reach but rather, renewing the mind is a process to reach the goal of the transformed life. I now think differently about the renewed mind. I will tell you that a couple of dozen years ago, I would have titled this teaching The Renewed Mind. I want to talk about you and me transforming our life so that we can live like Christ. This month, I want to talk about the Transformed Life. ![]() Renewing, changing, transforming the mind like Romans 12:2 says we should ![]()
